Writing a Good Memoir, Part Three

There are numerous life experiences which you might want to include in writing your memoir. How do you go about deciding which ones to include, and just where to put them in the story line? A good way of understanding the order of placement is to begin with an outline of the events. You will want to outline these experiences in a compelling way that will not only contribute to the overall story, but will also keep the story relevant and interesting. A good outline will help you know just where to begin.

There are natural turning points in your life story. Knowing what these turning points are will help you to put them in the best order, not just to keep the reader informed, but more importantly to help the story flow in an interesting way that will hold the reader's interest. For example, you might want to begin with important events from your childhood, or high school. or even in your marriage.?

A good outline will assist you in seeing and revealing the main themes in the book. Stay tuned for more information on fleshing out your story and coming to a meaningful conclusion. For more information on writing a good memoir, write to me at [email protected]. Thanks, and good writing.?
