Humour! It can be a saving grace, can help elevate a serious subject to truly powerful, and is a wonderful way for us to refresh body, mind and soul.
Writing a humorous book, and wondering about the market for it? Take a look at what some traditional publishers (that pay production costs and pay you an advance) are doing.

What really helps is to study and absorb their websites, and get a good feel for what they publish, what they've got upcoming, what they're open to.
?? Then check out some of those books on Amazon etc. (and see what other people are saying about them), and make good use of your local library. You should have an informed understanding of the co. you hope will be a 'home' for your manuscript.
It also really helps to put together a strong 'package.' E.g., sample chapters, table-of-contents, outline, author bio/platform, competitive analysis (of similar books), marketability report (associations etc.) and publicity/promo plans.
Even if a publisher doesn't ask for all of that upfront, you'll show you're serious about success with your funny book.
?? I can help you with all that - and with self-publishing, if you decide that makes more sense.
And I'm a humour author myself – many years ago, did the world's first humorous book on the 3000-year-old history of Celtic music (for a small specialty publisher who gave me a contract and advance, before I'd officially begun the book).
I did well globally, including as a guest/co-host on radio stations across North America.
Overall, albeit over many months, I got an approx. 65% media coverage-and-response rate, when the 'average' is 1 to 10%. And I can give you some great tips.
?? There are lots of ways to market your funny book - and I'm happy to answer questions. And to backtrack a little, there are many ways to write that book. Here's a piece on what it might take: ?? https://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/30/books/review/is-it-harder-to-write-humorously-than-it-is-to-write-seriously.html

1 年Great list of resources! I have sold a few funny stories to gift book publishers, including "Laughing Out Loud," which was published by Hallmark some years ago.
