???? The last participants of world wars have left us, or are very few...and those of other, more recent, major conflicts may struggle to create a new life.

And so the need for authentic stories, from diaries, documents, books, internet and other sources (like memory) becomes ever more precious and important.

Ever thought of writing your parents'/grandparents' or other family story, of wartime, peace, love, family and continuity??

Or have you yourself lived through a world of battle (such as Vietnam or Afghanistan), and come out not only a survivor, but an author in the making??

???? I'm also happy to direct you to the series of LI posts I wrote about the wartime worlds of my father (a soldier with the Polish II Corps) and mother (a codebreaker at Bletchley Park). In fact, this could be a great, non-intimidating way for you to begin to write your family saga...in post-style!

?? ???? And here's another little suggestion: you can use some stories in your family history to inspire a more inspirational/ motivational kind of book to appeal to and help many people.

Why not try using someone nearer and dearer, and with enough human interest to interest others??

Or...you could consider writing a fictionalized story of a true historical account, creating characters based loosely on people you know ~ and with more 'freedom' to tell their story.
