Writing Emails That People Reply To

Email is the most common form of business communication.

?

LinkedIn Video gets me and my clients the highest response – 60% - with LinkedIn voice notes not far behind 55%. Cold calling is 5% while email varies.

?

For industries I deliver training rin egularly like law, SaaS, IT, media and accountancy, it’s 20%, which is high. For industries I don’t know as well, it’s 5% repsonse, which is still high.

?

So how do you write an email people reply to?

1.Avoid Cliches

2. Get Their Interest

?

?? the goal of an email is NOT to book a meeting. It's to stand out and get someone interested.

?3.Understand How Business Works

?

?? people are busy. Don't write long emails

?

?? if you don't know someone and ask for a meeting tomorrow, then you don't understand how businesses work.

?

Over 60% of emails are read on mobiles. Make your email easy to read.

4. Business is in the Follow-Up

?

Most people don’t follow-up and when they do it’s with cliches like “bumping this to the top of your email.” Or “what are your thoughts on my email?’

?

This isn’t good enough. Take your foot off autopilot and ask yourself, what will make this person open the email? This is why sales is a vital skill. It’s not just business conversion. You learn psychology, marketing, communication, LinkedIn, relationship building and so much more.

?

What’s the best way to do business? The best way to do business is multi-platform; this includes LinkedIn voice notes, and consistent posting mixed with live events still generates the best results.

Great explanation, Niraj Kapur. "The goal of an email is NOT to book a meeting. It's to stand out and get someone interested." < So many people try to shortcut to the appointment, and then they get nothing in return.
