The writing to change your brand.

The writing to change your brand.

Stories have made me.

As a child, I would tell my mom to tell me a story before I fall asleep.

That was the only way I could ever sleep.

I wouldn't mind if she's repeating one story every day, I simply wanted to hear her sweet voice so I can doze off.

Thankfully I exposed myself to books apart from my school syllabus and was introduced to a new world. And, a very fascinating distraction for me.

A world full of little fantasies, fairy-like dreams, awaken ambitions and new possibilities of imagination.

I came to know how an author thinks and what makes a story. Wrote one. Published it. Saw people reading and talking about it. Wrote again and decided to never stop.

My journey started on a rough pavement with small stones and big rocks as I walk past them.

I have constructed myself a lot off of stories and realised how much it matters when it comes to building a brand.

I worked with many brands and companies for a long time.

Around 49 months to be exact as a freelancer and as an employee.

From a young age, I started my journey towards writing good plots.

Give some soul to something unknown.

Being an author taught me a lot. But one of the most important things I have learnt is loyalty and empathy.

Being very honest with myself and empathetic with every character.

I didn't hate villains like I did when I watched movies.

But this time villain was a part of me too.

This taught me a lot.

It taught me to learn and make sure to ponder how every person would feel and think. Where they come from. What problems do they have? What makes them the person they are?

Making every emotion as realistic as I could.

Learnt, that stories are nothing but truth told in the most beautiful way.

As I kept working with SaaS in my career, I simultaneously kept learning and understanding writing in a deeper level.

I felt that when it comes to branding and storytelling, SaaS is extremely weak.

I have rarely seen any brand coming off of a strong personality.

What surprises me the most is that people don't want to change it.

They don't want to change the perception of their brand.

Overly professional and pretentious stories are okay for them.

They feel weird when the lingo is out of the professional quo at least.

I tried to negotiate this with everyone I met and worked for. Tried to explain how you can make your brand a bit different and how you can give it the voice you have as a founder.

Some found it great and some found it too... Not the most appropriate. Because no one is doing it so we have no idea how this would go ahead.

A lot of people aren't doing it. And that's why you should. Is my approach.

Well... Storytelling in SaaS is something I still have to see a lot and I wanted to be one of the writers who initiate it.

I already have. I try my best to integrate characters every time I write for any of these brands today.

As much as I have understood sales one thing is very clear.

People don't buy professionalism, people buy simplicity.

Customers buying anything from you depends on how understood they feel and how they understand you.

Every brand, logo, profile and price tells a story. That story should have at least one element in it which makes people want to stick to them.

This is the exact reason I am starting this newsletter.

To maybe teach people everything I have learnt all these years and everything I keep learning.

To teach the writers and the brand builders the importance and how-tos of building a phenomenal brand story which sets you apart.

And if even one writer gets inspired and feels that they can integrate storytelling in any brand they work with. Or, maybe a founder starting their own brand and wants to understand the importance of building relationships for a long time.

I would be more than happy.

Because this is all that I have learnt and I would do my best to share it in the best way I can.

...So basically this newsletter would consist of learnings and everything which comes under my area of expertise.

  1. Better storytelling
  2. Consumer Psychology
  3. Selling better
  4. Amazing Branding
  5. How to make your SaaS company unique
  6. Setting yourself apart from your writing style.

If this is something which intrigues you, sign up and every once in a week I would see you in your inbox and make sure that you get value that you would like to see. And, probably grow with these learnings which I had to learn myself.

Take care thanks for reading.
