How can writers that don’t have an agent submit a script to film & streaming companies? Who do I contact, what info is required to send them?

  • Although there are still rules and guidelines to follow for submitting a script. Today's process is less restrictive and gives Independents a pathway to submit their scripts.

Getting Started: You and/or team member need permission to submit your script.

  • Agents are no longer the only person that can submit scripts to studios, streaming, and broadcast companies.

  • To get started, you just need to decide who, you want to assist you... if assistance is needed.
  • Keep in mind, there are some that will only develop your package but not submit your script. Make sure to ask if they do both.
  • Do your research. Using IMDB.com (one of our exec. Pro.) is a good source to confirm an executive's credits. Make sure their credits are from major film, cable, streaming, and/or broadcast companies.

If assistance is needed speak with our Executive Producer...

Who do I contact?

Once you and/or your team have identified the company your project will be submitted to. The company you submit to will inform you of the executive it is being released to... based on the genre of your script.

When asked to send over information about your project, companies want to see more than your script.

  • Click here: What is a Development Presentations (DP). Why is it needed, and how does it differ from a pitch deck?
  • Do you need to have talent attached to your package or know someone in the industry? No.
  • Is it mandatory to have a visual or proof of public interest in your project? No, but highly recommended:
  • The following is recommended: Concept Video, trailer, and/or support information showing the public has interest in your project is also very helpful... i.e. book version of your script, channel on YouTube, social media followers, etc.
  • What happens to my script once it's submitted to a film, streaming, or broadcast company?

Click here if assistance is needed and speak with our executive producer.

Polished Script: If your Development Presentation reveals information they're looking for, the next step taken by their Development Executive is to review the first 10 pages of your polished script.

Why are the first 10 pages of your script critical to the review of your script continuing or getting "Passed" on.
