Writer's Block AKA Creatio ex nihilo
Jonathan ?? Pritchard
Does your company exhibit at 2+ trade shows a year? What if there's a way to get 2-5x more business from your booth? Would that be worth a conversation?
One thing I love about my mind reading show: it’s different every single time.
Even if I perform the exact same demonstrations and say the exact same things; there will still be massive variation in how the show goes.
Why?
I have no idea what the participants are going to say or do!
I’m surprised every single time.
And I want to let you in on a secret: sometimes those participants are doing the best script-writing for me. They’ll say something hilarious, and that brilliant line makes its way into the next performance. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone!
That’s the secret that can guarantee that you never experience writer’s block ever again.
See, writer’s block isn’t a thing.
It’s less about not being able to express and idea. It’s more about not having any ideas in the first place! Your idea tank is easy.
This brings us to Latin theology.
There was a doctrine that matter cannot be created from nothing (creatio ex nihilo), and therefore the universe needs a Creator.
And that goes for content creation, too.
You can’t create something from nothing. Everything needs a starting place.
So, if you have writer’s block, you’re trying to create something completely out of thin air. You’re trying to do the work of a God.
You’re not a God. Cut yourself some slack.
Try it the easy way.
Take an idea, concept, framework, approach, or anything else that you’ve seen work over the years.

Then add your own unique experience to it.
This is the secret of my mind reading show.
I’m giving the show enough space that the participants can add their own unique perspectives and thoughts. The performance has that room to breathe.
So I’m collaborating with my participants to create a unique experience that could never exist otherwise.
But you don’t need a live performance if you’re stuck.
Add your own personal experience to it.
Take this article, for example. I’m drawing on my performing background AND I’m pulling on the fact that my Dad was a pastor my whole childhood and he loved looking up old Latin phrases.
I probably wouldn’t have heard of it if it wasn’t for him.
The ideas are timeless; the experience is the unique twist.
So let me know how this helps! Tell me what experiences & thoughts you add to the mix for your next video, article, or masterpiece.
Can’t wait to hear from you.
Best thoughts,
