I'm at the Queens Public Library at Rochdale Village, NY. For people who do not know, Rochdale Village is a huge complex of Co-ops with two malls (one mall has the new Crunch Fitness gym I work out in), a library, a community center (my cousin Richard's wedding reception was there), and a medical center (I had appointments with my pediatrician there). Rochdale Village is so big it is a city within a city. The plan of construction of Rochdale Village started in 1939 and today still stands. Other then the history lesson and my recollections, I wanted to bring something positive to you. Before the construction of this huge development, there was a though of it. Someone envisioned it, started creating it and today there are people who have a place they can lay their heads, a place to shop for food, a place to get medical care, and a place to learn a new skill. Thinks about the thoughts you had to do something of significance but never gave birth to it because of naysayers, haters and your own doubts. People who have done great things in the world are no better than any of us. An idea that can change the world can start with our thoughts. If you have a vision, then hold on to it. Seek and find people that can help you create it and make it into reality. When in doubt on how to start do three things:
1. Write your vision down
2. Go to the library and speak with a librarian
3. Google or Bing what you want to do and see if there are any media that can get you closet to your goal.
Why?
Writing your vision down enables it to be more tangible. You and others can see it, but be careful to show it to the right people.
A librarian will help you pinpoint the best resources available for what you want to do. Although a Google search can get you more search results, a librarian can possibly get you the best search results.
Once you received more precise information about your vision you can follow up with a Google or Bing search with better keywords for better search results on your own.
