Write more often for thought clarifications
There is something MAGICAL about writing. By writing, I mean penning down like the way we used to do in our kindergarten.
Do you remember? Our school used to provide us with School Dairies to carry every day. We used to note down our daily assignments, our vacation - homework and sometimes feedback from our teacher.
As we grew older, we found ourselves drifting away from writing down.
I too felt this until last year. I was then a full-time employee who would use a word or notepad on the laptop to note something down or otherwise would never use a pen or diary.
Quitting my job to restart my journey as a GATE aspirant made things worse. I was scared and anxiety used to hit me more often. This is when I held the pen and diary once again. I started writing about how I was feeling. I used to write what it was that bothered me. I wrote about the insecurities I had in my future and career. I used to write about everything I wanted to tell someone. As I embarked upon this writing journey, I found myself changing. I felt clarification in my thoughts.
We think faster, but we write slowly. And it is a human habit, that it can write only when it knows what and why it is writing.
This simple science behind writing led me to write down my daily tasks, monthly tasks, my performances, and everything I wanted to measure and control. Writing came up as a weapon.
Here I am sharing three things you too can do to start writing once again.
1. Have a separate diary or notepad. Prefer a new one, one that has never been used.
Using a new one will help push your writing specialty to the next level.
2. Keep the diary somewhere near you. Preferably at your work or office table.
3. Mention the date every time you write. It will trigger you to write again once you revisit your diary.
4. Keep visiting it once a month to measure how better you are from the last time you wrote.
Writing has been an integral part of ours. We have undoubtedly used it for our projects and assignments. Now it's time to use it for ourselves.
I have shared below some of the glimpses of my diary for you to have a look. : - )))
