As to not dangle one carrot too many, let’s get into what we’ve seen this month!
Forecasts?
For decades AI has taken centre stage in the mainstream media as one of the biggest opportunities for the advancement of the human race, or, as the biggest threat to life as we know it, depending on what you read.?
If we strip our emotions towards AI all the way back, let’s look at what we’ve been exposed to over the years. Films like The Terminator, A.I, The Matrix, I-robot (keep his wife’s name out your…) are entrenched in the consequences associated with technological developments. And as humans, we have eaten these “conscious machine villain” storylines up. To the tune of billions of dollars
Now, let’s look at this from a more professional and academic perspective. We’ve all read at least one headline about how AI is coming for our gig. Whether that’s Marketing, programming, designing, manufacturing…you name it. There’s always an AI solution which could streamline productivity, create the next generation of customer experiences and above all, replace us as humans *gulp*.?
The reality is, technological advancements and human contribution is synonymous. Without the input of human data: real lived experiences, pressures, fears and frustrations, advancements wouldn’t exist, because why would they? It’s human emotion and problems; and the speed in which we want solutions, that is driving the need for technological intervention.?
There’s absolutely no doubt in our minds that these Hollywood plots bear little relevance in today’s world, where technology is positively impacting critical facets of our economy, our society and our environment.?
What do you think ChatGPT??
"The potential risks and benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) are currently the subject of much debate. Properly designed and implemented, AI can help to solve many of the world's most pressing problems, but if not, it could lead to unintended consequences. Therefore, it is important to continue to closely monitor the development and use of AI and take steps to mitigate any potential negative impacts".

“Bunny” “Outside” “Mom”
If you have TikTok, you know Bunny the Sheepadoodle. But did you know that FluentPet created the soundboard that bunny uses? They’ve taken the talky buttons one step further and you can now receive alerts to your smartphone when your pet is trying to communicate with you via FluentPet Connect. So if you’re not in the room or away from your pet, they can still let you know they’ve seen a squirrel. Epic.?

There’s nothing “chill” about Netflix’s password crackdown of 2023.?
From March this year, Netflix is to crack down on password sharing outside of households. “Today’s widespread account sharing (100M+ households) undermines our long-term ability to invest in and improve Netflix, as well as build our business,” Netflix said in a shareholder letter. A paid option is rumoured to be proposed to those who want to share passwords, is this to combat the so far unpopular ad-supported tier launched last year? It feels like there is more that can be done here which doesn’t just focus on new revenue streams, perhaps we can lean more into what customers want from Netflix?
Amazon’s not smiling?
