WRAPPING UP 2022

How on earth did it get to the end of December already?

I can’t quite believe it’s time for me to introduce this wrap-up of just some of our highlights from 2022 - and what a year it's been!

Our staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly over the last 12 months listening to our communities and developing our services to meet their needs. Our champions and ambassadors have put on the most amazing events to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the organisation and we have developed new partnerships with local authorities and sector experts to help move our mission forward.

We saw a huge rise in the number of people who were homeless this year because of Domestic Abuse and as a result we created our brand new service specifically to help them resettle.?

We also launched our new Over 50s service. We have always worked with LGBTQ+ people of all ages but older people told us they wanted to have a service especially for them, so this year we launched our first dedicated service for people 50+. We've already seen this service really take off.

Our communities told us they wanted us to be more visible, to see us shouting about the good work we do, so we attended Pride events from Brighton to Birmingham this year, significantly increasing our profile all across the UK.?

We awarded our Inclusion Standard to Lambeth Council who have demonstrated their commitment to LGBTQ+ residents, the first local authority to receive it so far.

PoLAri, anyone? It was a massive year for PoLAri - a Pale Ale brewed to support Stonewall Housing.?We receive 10p from the sale of every pint & 5p from every 330ml can. As of this month it's raised over ï¿¡22,504 for us.

For the Monzo-ers out there - our new partnership means that Monzo users can find Stonewall Housing on the app's ‘Donate to charity’ feature. You can make one-off or monthly donations directly to us & we get 100% of your donation.?

I am so grateful for the hard work of every single person at Stonewall Housing. We have such an incredible team and every single person is determined to make sure we reach more LGBTQ+ people who need our help.

I want to sign off for the year by saying a huge thank you to all of you, our amazing supporters, Ambassadors and Champions.

You have been just wonderful this year. Every time we ask for your support you are there, organising and attending events, blowing up our social media and doing the most incredible things for Stonewall Housing and for our LGBTQ+ communities. We simply couldn’t do our work without you.?

Because of your kindness we have been able to employ more staff, set up more services, answer more calls, and house more LGBTQ+ people than ever before.

Of course, there’s still so much more to do, but with your support we will do it. We will not stop until every LGBTQ+ person has somewhere safe to call home.
