What a tremendous summer it has been! As we reflect on the past few months,?Pro?Sports Assembly is pleased to congratulate members who demonstrate leadership excellence and recently received certificates in?Accessibility Design and Allyship presented by the Cleveland Cavaliers ?and the 3rd cohort to receive the?Certificate of Inclusive Leadership presented by Sodexo Live! ?PRO?is also proud to welcome new members from the Minnesota Twins and the Chicago Blackhawks!

Last month,?PRO?hosted its annual Leadership Retreat and Workshop, The Assembly, in Austin, TX. The Planning Committee led by Co-Chairs Antony Bonavita, Alexis Roe, and Lexi Williams knocked it out of the park! Thank you for your intentional and impactful leadership in creating a space for?PRO?leaders across the industry to learn, grow and gain new perspectives.

Nominations are open now through August 31, 2023 for the?Pro?Sports Assembly?Governing Board ?and?Board of Representatives . The Nominations Committee is seeking candidates whose leadership skills, acumen and relationships will enhance the value of?PRO?and the strategic direction of the organization.

Qualifications Include:

• A demonstrated leadership interest, commitment or involvement with?Pro?Sports Assembly.
• A demonstrated leadership in a professional team, league, union or venue and a strong curiosity or understanding of the leadership required of C-suite leaders.
• A commitment to ethics, diversity, equity, inclusion, and civility.
• Positive leadership attributes include emotional intelligence; the ability to work collaboratively; proactive and forward-thinking leadership; and the ability to engage inappropriate debate and discussion when needed
• Visionary and strategic thinker.
• Must be able to participate in 75% of board meetings a year.

PRO?Members are invited to join the?Global Sport Institute ?at Arizona State University for an extended discussion of the Sports Fan & Consumer Survey Data presented at The Assembly 2023's panel session?State of?Pro?Sports: What does the data tell us?

The Sports Fan & Consumer Survey measures public attitudes towards professional sports organizations' efforts to support DEI in their business practices, as well as the perceived impact that players' and teams' stands for social justice has on fan and consumer engagement. There will be ample opportunities for Q&A and to discuss insights from trends reflected in the data.

Last month, leaders from over 70 organizations across professional sports met in Austin for 3 days of insightful discussions, impactful presentations, and unparalleled networking opportunities.

The event kicked off with the Inaugural Medal of Leadership Awards Ceremony honoring?PRO?Leaders for their impact and contributions to their organizations and the industry! The ceremony, which included tribute videos (like the one above), heartfelt speeches, and a glimpse into the personal journeys of the honorees, created an atmosphere of camaraderie and celebration and set the tone for the rest of the event! The retreat continued with workshops led by?Pro?Sports leaders, research partners, and industry experts from organizations such as NWSL, Washington Commanders, Evolved Experience Solutions, SeatGeek, TIDES Institute and more! Members were challenged to think proactively about the future of professional sports and how their individual influence can continue to make an impact on the industry!
