Wrap It up and Let It Go!

Wrap It up and Let It Go!

A busy week can be quite the whirlwind experience, especially when it's filled with shifting priorities, unexpected fires, and data that signals the need for a change in direction. When Friday rolls around, it's time to wrap everything up, prepare for Monday's strategy, and not only focus on the big goals but also the little wins. Let's break it down and provide a roadmap to end your week effectively.

1. Review Your Priorities

After a chaotic week, take out the list from your Monday morning huddle and aim to check off each item. Carrying unfinished business from week to week is like carrying a heavy bag; it wears you down. So, make a conscious effort to avoid this trap.

2. Operate Efficiently

In today's world, most businesses are running lean. Wearing multiple hats is common, and balancing day-to-day operations with long-term goals can be tricky. The solution? Don't just sweat the small stuff - complete it! Prioritize and collaborate to ensure nothing gets overlooked.

3. Avoid Redundancies

Repeatedly looking over the same documents is a time-waster. Instead, spend your Fridays reviewing the week's successes, identifying what's been put off, and tackling or delegating those small tasks. Efficiency is the key here.

4. Bite into the Big Goals

Once you've cleared the decks, take a big bite out of your goal project. Spend some dedicated time focusing on what needs your utmost attention.

5. Assess and Plan

Allocate the last couple of hours on Friday to assess your projects and map your deadlines. Collaborate with your manager if necessary, and sketch out a game plan for the next week. Don't forget to get on the calendars of the key players involved in your project.

6. Wind Down and Let Go

As you leave the office doors, embrace the accomplishment, exhale, and let go of the work stress. You've got 48 hours that belong to you and your loved ones. Embrace the moment, and as the sun goes down on Sunday, wish for tranquility and rejuvenation. Monday will come soon enough, but the weekend is yours.

The way you close your week sets the tone for the next one. It's about clearing the clutter, staying focused, and taking a breather to recharge. With a systematic approach and mindful practice, you can walk out of your office every Friday feeling accomplished and ready to enjoy your well-earned weekend.

Friday is the home stretch. If you want to set yourself apart from your competition at your work and vs external competitors, go hard Friday afternoon. You will find because others are slacking or even at the bar, your success rates will increase. Even though I increase the volume of work, I lower the intensity of my tone of voice. People are often gearing down and easy conversation is what they want. I have had huge sales success Friday afternoons. Just my two cents....
