Wow, what a week!

Wow, what a week!

With this being a weekly newsletter, that sure felt like the longest week ever since I gave you my last edition... or maybe I didn't completely keep my commitment and it was just a hair longer than a week... maybe a couple hairs...

Anyway, I do apologize for taking so long to get this out to you! As you may be aware, there have been a few changes around here since you got my last article. I'll run through the major things really quickly.

1) Shortly after I posted my last article, our youngest son Jordan was born! He's our biggest fresh baby so far and his big brothers Gatlin, and Hank (who may not be "big" brothers for long), absolutely adore him. Don't worry, I absolutely will have a stereotypical "proud dad" moment and give you a picture of our fresh little chunk of smiles, but you have to wait until the end of the article.

Now, I'm going to pretend like you didn't just scroll to the end and now you have rejoined me.

We are extremely blessed that everything went smoothly with delivery and we can't begin to explain how thankful we are to hold the chunky little boy that we were told we would never meet, just over a year ago.

Indeed, God is good.

2) I am no longer running my own financial planning practice Barefoot Financial Planning and have since joined Nickels Wealth ! While I thoroughly enjoyed growing my own business, I found Nickels at the tail end of last year, and the more I got to know Bain Nickels CFP?, CKA? , Tracey Dexter Bryan, CFP?, CKA? , and the rest of the staff here, the more I realized that they had something that I wanted to be a part of.

I saw very clearly that the holistic yet simple view that Nickels Wealth approaches financial planning very closely mirrored the structure that I was trying to create. The main difference is that they already have a lot of it figured out while I was still trying to learn and grow in that area and many others.

Overall, I saw that moving to Nickels was a great move for our family and we look forward to seeing the benefit that it brings to our clients as time goes on.

While my role has changed slightly, I'm still able to help provide tremendous value for our clients and continue to help the business grow in other areas.

That being said, part of my job is actually to continue providing useful content to you. In an effort to do this, we're currently in the process of updating our website so that we can provide exactly that. We'll have several different avenues through which we offer this insight and I will let you know what those avenues are as we continue to roll them out.

So here are some things that you can be on the lookout for:

  • Keep an eye out for a post on your feed about our new website and some of the content that we will have available there.
  • The next edition of this newsletter will look a little bit different. To appease my dad joke loving self, I'm changing "Dollars and Sense Digest" to "Nickels and Sense"! What better way to help you remember this newsletter than to use a cheesy pun?
  • Be ready to see a change in the frequency of this newsletter. With joining a bigger business, than what I was building on my own, there are some more responsibilities that I have taken on even though I no longer wear every "hat" of the business that I'm a part of. With that being the case, I simply don't think I will have the same amount of time to devote to putting this out weekly. While I haven't decided on the frequency of it yet, there is a good chance that a change is coming. You may see that the frequency currently says "monthly" but that may change to "bi-weekly" if I decide that is a better option.

And as always, some action steps for you:

  1. Go follow Nickels Wealth so that you don't miss anything new with us.
  2. Stick with me! While I know I'm not this all-knowing sage when it comes to financial advice, I have seen the continued growth of this newsletter and I want to thank you for that. Seeing the number of readers continue to trend upwards gives me hope that the content that I provide is valuable and I'm glad to be able to provide it for you yet again.

Now, again, I'm going to pretend that you haven't already scrolled down to see this, but without further ado, I give you chunky little Jordan Reed!
