Unpleasant people are dreaming up ways of using AI's power to scam us.

Within the coming weeks and months you will see your own child's face calling from 'a friends' phone.

They will tell you how they were mugged and lost their phone and wallet, asking you to send cash to their friends account, so the friend can give it to them.

It looks like them, sounds like them, they are distressed and crying.

Your kid is in trouble, so you help right away. Then later you discover it was a deepfake scam.

This is why we have been on our mission to stop the spread of disinformation and deepfakes in society, but until our tool is available, please stay extra wary in the coming months.

Ask a challenge question like:

• What's the name of our new dog? (when you don't have a new dog)
• In which restaurant did we last eat together?

Or simply call their phone right away.
