Cancer Adcocate ? Communicator ? Business Podcast Host: I build coalitions, share knowledge, and empower cancer survivors and entrepreneurs to take charge of the things they CAN control to improve their quality of life.
I hope this finds you in good health and high spirits. It's hard to believe that it's already February! What the heck happened to January?
As you may know, I've been hosting a podcast for many years. I've been enjoying being on the other side of the microphone, talking about tryingnottodie.LIVE. Listen to the interviews here!
Dealing with Cancer is Hard
We all know that having cancer is challenging, but we don't want to worry others, so we put on a "happy face" and fake it. Sometimes that's the hardest part of being on a cancer journey. We want to focus on being happy, being with friends and family, NOT having cancer...but it's always there - and let's be honest, often makes even every day life a challenge. Read more about how it can often be completely overwhelming.
Empathy...or Compassion?
Sometimes, talking with others about what we're going through can be difficult. They mean well, but if someone hasn't gone through this journey, they can't understand. They don't know what it's like to dread every shower because you might find a new lump. They don't know what it's like to be emotionally and physically exhausted. They don't know what it's like to wonder what tomorrow will bring, let alone what's going to happen in the future. If you haven't been on a cancer journey, we DO need you to provide compassion, even if you don't really know what we're going through. Read more about understanding, without having experienced cancer.
