WOW! BOOM! BANG!
I am here to make a difference

WOW! BOOM! BANG!

We have increased tenfold in the last four years. Many heartfelt thanks to our loyal customers and to my dear colleagues who made this possible. I am very grateful and happy about it.

WOW! BOOM! BANG!

In this context, one question is on my mind.

'Why are we never satisfied with what we have achieved?'

Actually, everything is good. The job is fun, relationships are stable, vacations are planned - but still there is always something that doesn't suit us, that could be better: More money, a better car, more appreciation at work, etc.

But why is that? Why are many not satisfied with their lives and want more? And above all, how can we get rid of it? Because: dissatisfaction is a burden and tugs at the psyche.

My pain is my motivation.

We often achieve the best performance through the incentive of comparison. But this comparison and striving for improvement also makes us unhappy. If humans had not been chronically dissatisfied a few centuries ago, we might not have fire, electricity, or telephones now. Our brains are hardwired to want to improve the status quo because it has always been evolutionarily advantageous to evolve and want more.

It was essential for the development of mankind not to be satisfied with everything, but to strive for more in order to ensure the survival of the descendants, to protect oneself from diseases or to have a more carefree life. Our brain has always been programmed that way. Only it no longer makes sense in the year 2022, because we are not dependent on being dissatisfied to ensure our survival.

While in primeval times it was essential for survival to optimize one's situation and not to remain at a standstill, today it is a burden for many people. The reason: nowadays we have a potentiated multitude of options that did not exist in the past.

Theoretically, we can live in any country in the world, have insight into the exciting lives of others to compare ourselves to via social media, are allowed to choose the profession we want, depending on our education, and even have a wide range of potential partners to choose from thanks to dating sites and dating apps.

Now the thing is, our brains keep telling us we need to optimize something and at the same time we have too many options and too many choices to make.?

Of course, this implies that we never know if we are making the right decision. After all, around the next corner there could be a person waiting for us who is a better fit or another job that is much more awesome, etc. This is a spiral that can make us unhappy and even depressed.

So it can be that even people who have achieved everything outwardly can't get away from the thought of always having to optimize even more and fail at it. Because: More, faster or better is theoretically always possible. It never stops.

Ultimately, you have to come to the point of saying: I have enough in life, I'm happy with it, and I still feel like improving something. Because contentment doesn't imply that you don't want to change anything in your life or make it more beautiful.

Keep a gratitude diary, for example on paper or your cell phone, in which you note what is good in your life, what you are grateful for and in which area you are successful. After all, we can control where our brain puts its focus.

That's the only way you can get rid of that drive and prevent yourself from burning out because you never feel like something you're doing is enough or that something better might not come along.

We are here to make a difference

I'm grateful for the last four years. But it's also clear: we continue to strive for improvement and growth. Without forgetting where we came from. I like the quote from Rory Vaden in this context. 'Success is never owned. It is rented and the rent is due everyday.'

Very relatable! I think everyone has a certain topic where they always want more and are never satisfied. For me, it's definitely cars. I could get a brand new one tomorrow and the day after i'm already looking for what else is available. But looking back 10 years from today, a lot has changed in a good way. Actually a good exercise to get back down to earth. ?? Nevertheless, it's great to have big goals and wishes, so you stay in the game and don't slow down. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this!
