We talk a lot with clients about recognising and managing RISK when addressing Governance in their businesses yet one of the biggest risk factors for any business arises much earlier on - namely, setting a Vision and Strategy that is unrealistic or unattainable!


If you start off planning to do the wrong thing or in a direction that doesn’t lead to your end goal it’s obvious that many of the decisions you make that follow are also likely to be wrong.


Recognising this led me to develop the 2 Day Business review and Eventonomics guidebook so that we could help event business owners take a step back and have an objective look under the bonnet - so to speak.


It’s a way to self - audit your business with experienced event industry consultants who know what questions to ask and where to look for the issues that will or potentially already are putting your plans at risk.


The idea is that together, over an intense 2 day period, we look at every aspect of your business - Your market, vision, goals, structure, staff, management, governance, marketing, sales, finances and so on……identifying the strengths and weaknesses in both your current business and future plans.


The result - a factual status report of your business with a personally crafted series of recommendations and actions designed to address issues and ensure you are firmly on track to meet your goals.



You are not alone in facing the challenges you see before you. In fact, I've observed that many event business owners face remarkably similar challenges. This recognition of commonality led me to develop the two-day review process and create the Eventonomics guidebook.


The issues that arise tend to follow familiar patterns, and so do the solutions. What I'm proposing doesn't require a complete overhaul of your business operations or a radical change in approach. Instead, it's about encouraging you to consider specific aspects and perspectives that you might not have thought about before.


By taking the time to delve into these areas and view your business from different angles, you can uncover opportunities for improvement and growth that were previously hidden. This process isn't about reinventing the wheel; it's about fine-tuning and optimising your existing operations to achieve your goals more effectively.


The Eventonomics approach can help you navigate the challenges and complexities of the event business more successfully. Clients regularly share their various issues with us, but no matter how challenging they might be, in my 35 years in the events industry, there is very little that we haven’t seen before or had myself.
