Would You Change Your life?

Would You Change Your life?

What if you knew how much time you had left?

Would it change how you approach your career, your relationships, or your day-to-day?

I’ve been thinking about this since I read The Measure, a book where every person on Earth receives a string that reveals the measure of their remaining life. It’s a fascinating premise — challenging you to consider how the knowledge of your mortality might change your priorities.

At a certain point in life you often reach a sense of acceptance, even peace, about the paths you’ve chosen. I know I’ve felt this way.?

But thinking about "the measure,” I’m focusing on living more intentionally. What would it look like to live every day with purpose and meaning?

I'm at a crossroads where I could easily choose to retire. I’ve worked hard for many years, and the option is there.?

Yet, something keeps pulling me forward. No, I’m not grinding like I did in my younger years, but I still find pleasure in helping small business owners — especially coaches and consultants — hone their messaging, branding, marketing, and lead generation.?

There’s something special about witnessing transformation. It’s what excites me about my work and keeps me going.?

And then there’s my relationship with my partner. Navigating his health challenges has brought us closer, making us more tolerant, more patient, and more deeply appreciative of each other. It's a reminder that no one lives forever and that life is precious.

So, let me ask you: If you knew how much time you had left, would you do anything differently? Would you double down on your current path, or take a sharp turn toward something new??

Maybe it’s not about radical changes, but about making each day count with a little more clarity and passion.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. How would you measure your life??

Great, Wendy Marx. "The Measure" really challenges us to reflect on how we prioritize our time and live with intention. It's a great reminder to approach every day with purpose and meaning. How would you change if you knew your time was limited??????

Well, if I knew how much time I had left, I'd probably start by panicking and then quickly move on to making a bucket list. Skydiving, bungee jumping, and eating all the pizza in the world would definitely be on it! But on a serious note, I think I'd focus on spending more time with loved ones and doing work that truly makes a difference in the world. Life's too short to waste on things that don't matter.

Great question and idea. I think we would all reconsider our lives and at least make some minor modifications.
