Nature has taught me so much over the years. Every time I spend time in nature and get really still, so still I can really listen, I learn something. Those moments of quiet can be hard to find in the hustle culture we live in today, but we must fight for them. Fight like our life depends on it because it does.
Without moments of quite it can be easy for the days to drift together as we move from task to task, fire to fire. We collapse at the end of the day feeling exhausted and longing to numb out with something mindless or something to "take the edge off."
Soon we wake up and wonder where the year went. You may be experiencing that right now as you realize we have less than 90 days left in 2024. Does it feel like the year just started? If you are wondering where the time has gone, this may be a tug from your inner knowing to slow down just a bit to be more present in this moment. Right here. Right now.
Do you have other thoughts tugging at you? Are you wondering, "what if...."
? What if I didn't eat every meal at my desk?
? What if I said NO - to a project, an invitation, another thing for the to-do list?
? What if I said YES - to the art class, the side hustle, the dream in my heart?
? What if I fail? What if I succeed?
If this is you, I see you. I've been there too. I've been in the corporate grind striving for the next milestone, the next goal post, the next promotion as if my self-worth depended on it. I remember days when I didn't have time to get up for a bio break let alone have 10 minutes to take a walk outside. I was so caught up in my head that I felt complete disconnected from my body. The idea of spending time in nature felt like a luxury I didn't have time for because I was "too busy."
I'm not busy anymore. I'm fulfilled. In truth I probably work longer and harder than I ever have and yet it doesn't feel that way because my work is in alignment with my soul's purpose. It is possible to do what you love and still earn a paycheck. It all starts with clarity. Get really clear about what you want, and then go after it.
I can assure you that the key to happiness is NOT found in:
? your title,
? striving for the next thing,
? the number of followers, likes and comments you receive,
? pushing yourself to the limits risking your health and well-being.

It is easy to fall into these traps. Our society deceives us into thinking that we will be happy when we reach a certain milestone set in the future. It encourages us to push what we really want aside and focus on what we think we "should" do.
It takes courage and bravery to push back, but it is so worth it. Life is too short to spend it doing something that leaves you feeling depleted at the end of the day just to earn a paycheck. You were born to do more than pay the bills.
The world needs your voice, your art, your innovation, your ideas now more than ever.
To quote Mary Oliver, "Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" You only get one shot at this. It's time to create a life you don't need an escape from. How would it feel to:
??have clarity around your values, your boundaries and what really matters to you,
??know exactly what lights your heart on fire and brings you joy,
??build an income stream you don't want to paddle away from,
??have the tools you need to stay centered when life throws you a curve ball?
If you are feeling exhausted with the daily grind, please know there is a better way. You don't have to live each day for the future. There is so much magic happening all around us in the present moment. Life gets so much better when we are truly present for it each and every day.
Don't seek self-worth in the wrong places. Worthiness is an inside game.
Be well and frolic on!
