Is it worth it?

The recent Covid-19 cases spike in Singapore amid the Omicron wave is indeed of concern to most people I know, including me.
But what is of greater concern is that I still come across people daily with their noses fully exposed when wearing their masks outdoors and even indoors. Similar to most people, lately, my friends and business contacts have been tested positive for Covid-19; some with more serious symptoms than others but thankfully they have all recovered.
However, what stood out to me was I noticed that the people whom I spoke to possess the mentality that 'We will all get infected sooner or later.’
I feel this is a dangerous mindset, especially amid the current Omicron wave. Yes, no doubt we're now in the Endemic phase but that doesn't mean now is the time to let our guards down and subscribe to the belief that everyone will be tested positive for Covid-19 eventually. Instead, we must continue to be personally responsible for keeping each other safe by ensuring we wear our masks properly (yes, with both nose and mouth fully covered) and not going to work in the office if you have been in close contact with a Covid-19 infected person, even if your ART initial result was negative.
It is my sincere wish that anyone who has read my little write-up will continue to stay safe and don't put yourself and your loved ones at risk. The majority of Omicron-positive cases have mild symptoms and will recover within a week but we can't be 100% certain how our bodies will react if we do get infected.
Therefore, let's not gamble with our health and well-being, it's simply not worth it.
