The Worst Thing about Job Hunting? Being Ignored
Dear friends,
Being ignored or rejected during your job search is PAINFUL. Let's talk about it...
We’ve all been in this situation:
You apply for a job, and don’t ever hear back.
Or worse, you go above and beyond but get a polite rejection saying something like:
“We’re sorry to inform you that…”
If you hear crickets or get polite rejections left and right it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.
Most likely, your issue has to do with your resume or LinkedIn profile.
Those are the two things recruiters look at. And if one of them, or both of them, aren’t right, you’ll simply be ignored.
Being ignored or rejected is painful, but it’s nothing personal. And the good news is that it can be fixed.
You don’t have to fix yourself.
You just have to fix how you’re presenting yourself.
You have to make your resume and LinkedIn profile stand out, so you get noticed.
If you've ever been in a situation like this, and you want to prevent being ignored or rejected politely, I have good news.
All of the above is exactly what I’ll be doing with 100 people, starting next week, online.
I’ll be taking 100 people who want to stop being ignored or rejected, and will help them fix their online presence, their LinkedIn profile and most importantly, their messaging.
It's going to be an immersive experience. We'll go deep; I believe the program can change your life. It'll certainly change the way you see yourself as a professional.

And that's a good thing! We are all getting stronger together.
If you’d like to be one of the people I work with in this program, have a look at this.
If it resonates, sign up for my new master class, Get Noticed on LinkedIn.
Get Noticed on LinkedIn and get the job you deserve!
This program is for people who think they may be “unemployable." (They're not!)
It’s for people who are frustrated by the job search process.
It's for people who know they have so much to contribute to the world but are burned out on applying for jobs.
And it’s for people who were falsely led to believe they aren’t accomplished enough.
Let’s re-build your confidence, present you as the star you are, and get recruiters paying attention.
I know it’s hard, and being ignored or rejected can take an emotional toll on us, but I believe in you.
Thanks for being part of the Human Workplace movement and for reading this newsletter every week. Together, we're growing our flames and taking charge of our careers!
Here's to you --

I am curious whether y'all know of any workplaces that are upending the frankly ridiculous job application process as it exists now. I have nothing against the internet or the ease of online applications, but I don't see how it benefits anyone to have employers receiving thousands of applications for one vacancy, or for job-seekers to spend months sending 400, 500, 1000 applications for very little reward. I know Human Workplace has its own approach to recommend; I just wonder whether any employers are finding a way to stop the madness. I don't know what that would even look like! Requesting a paper application sent through the mail?

1 个月I have been there. I handed a store manager my resume once, he shook my hand and watched him walk away, never to be heard from again.
