Worsening food security situation
After nine years of war, living conditions have deteriorated for most, if not all, of Yemen’s population. Hunger, food insecurity, and malnutrition are at the forefront of the challenges Yemeni people are facing. Agriculture in Yemen only accounts for 15–20% of staple food needs. We've produced?the last report of the Social Impact Monitoring Project (SIMP),?as the current project comes to an end.

Ecuador: increased violence
On 8 January 2024, Ecuador’s President, Daniel Noboa, decreed a new nationwide state of exception declaring an internal armed conflict alongside an order for security forces to launch operations against 22 organised criminal gangs. We provide an anticipatory analysis of the potential humanitarian consequences of recent escalations in violence.
Bolivia: flooding and landslides
Since November 2023, Bolivia has been experiencing above-average rainfall, particularly in February 2024, resulting in floods and landslides. As at 18 March, floods and landslides had affected over 150,000 people, many of whom are facing critical healthcare needs in shelters for displaced people.?
