The World's Richest Animals
One of the greatest benefits to writing a will is that you get to choose who will be your beneficiaries and inherit from your estate. This can be whoever you choose, including family, friends and your favourite charity. It has even been known for people to leave something to their beloved pets.
In some cases, as shown here, this has been a large sum of money and property, which has resulted in the creation of this animal rich list.
1) Gunther the dog (ï¿¡90 million)
Top of the list is Gunther. He is a German Shepherd, that inherited his fortune from his father. His owner Karlotta Liebenstein had left it to him in her Will, when she died. One of Gunther’s most extravagant purchases was Madonna’s old home. He is also the proud owner of a rare white truffle which is worth £1000.
2) Blackie the cat (ï¿¡15 million)
Blackie is the world’s richest cat. He received this title when his owner, Ben Rea, passed away, and he claimed the second spot in the world’s richest animals list. Shockingly, Rea’s relatives received nothing from his estate. Blackie has even featured in the Guinness Book of World Records.
3) Gigoo the chicken (ï¿¡6 million)
As Miles Balckwell’s wife had passed away before him, he named the chicken as a beneficiary of his wealth, gifting a cool £6 million! He is the only chicken the make the list of the world’s richest animals.
4) Trouble the dog (ï¿¡1 million)
Trouble is a Maltese Terrier, who was originally left ï¿¡6 million by her billionaire owner Leona Helmsley. Her family contested the will and the poor pooch found his cut slashed to just ï¿¡1 million. Still a good amount for a dog though.
5) Tina and Kate the dogs (ï¿¡450,000)
When their owner died, Tina and Kate inherited the house that they were living in. They also have their own carer who is paid to look after them as well as the house!! They might just be the most pampered pooches to feature in the world’s richest animals shortlist.
6) Tinker the cat (ï¿¡100,000)
Claiming the last spot on the world’s richest animals list, is Tinker. He was a stray cat, which an elderly lady took pity on and named as a beneficiary of her will, gifting money and her three bedroom home. Poor Tinker became a target for many, who did not agree with her decision and he had to be moved somewhere safe.
Thanks to people’s generosity, and instructions in their wills, these animals became the richest animals in the world.
