We are excited to share with you the latest news from the Imternational Telecommunication Union AI for Good Global Summit 2023, the leading action-oriented United Nations platform promoting AI to advance health, climate, gender, inclusive prosperity, sustainable infrastructure, and other global development priorities.
The AI for Good Summit will take place in Geneva, Switzerland at CICG - Centre International de Conférences Genève on the 6-7th of July, convening an impressive assembly of over 60 distinguished speakers from diverse fields. Uniquely, this event unites AI professionals, 40 UN partners, and a remarkable array of more than 30 cutting-edge robots, including 9 renowned humanoid robots, all under one roof. The summit promises to be a dynamic forum fostering collaboration and innovation in the application of AI for a better future.
"We created the AI for Good Global Summit 5 years ago. It was built on the premise that we have less than 10 years to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and AI holds great promise to advance many of those goals and promise", Fred Werner at Emission Spéciale NAIA.R, 2022.
The goal of this global event is to identify practical applications of AI to accelerate progress towards the UN SDGs and connect AI innovators with public and private-sector decision-makers to help scale AI solutions globally. This year's summit is designed to generate ‘AI for Good’ solutions that can be enacted in the near term, guided by its multistakeholder and interdisciplinary audience. It also prioritizes networking, experiences, and matchmaking to stimulate collaboration efforts to ensure trusted, safe, and inclusive development of AI technologies and equitable access to their benefits.
“It's in our collective interest that we can shape AI faster than it is shaping us," said ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin . “This summit, as the UN's primary platform for AI, will bring to the table leading voices representing a diversity of interests to ensure that AI can be a powerful catalyst for progress in our race to rescue the SDGs."
The numbers behind this year's summit are impressive. With over 40 UN partners, more than 100,000 online community members, over 500,000 views, and participation from over 183 countries, the AI for Good Global Summit is truly a global event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to build collaboration efforts with our ‘AI for Good in Action’ and ‘Innovation Factory’ pitching sessions and the Discovery networking zone.
The summit's social events and matchmaking app will enable attendees to connect with over 3,000 in-person participants and 15,000 online members. This will create a unique opportunity to share ideas and experiences, learn from experts, and build relationships that will lead to positive change.
