World's Book day-Think Like a Monk
When I was hearing a lot about this book everywhere, I had a judgmental thought- Why anyone would want to think like a Monk? Little that I know what a Monk thinks like, all I knew was that a Monk, is a person detached from everything to avoid risks, conflicts, destress of a human life.
?And I am not a person ready to detach from the world and live somewhere where no one does. One day I picked up this same book to have a glance at it and read random lines and encountered some interesting Figures and statements such as below:
?“I am not what I think I am, and I am not what you think I am. I am what I think you think I am.” - Charles Horton Cooley, 1902
?“Detachment is not that you own nothing, but that nothing should own you.”
?“Spot-Stop-Swap”
?“Why Ladder” - find out the true intention behind our desires
?“The repetition of sound purifies us. The sound is immersive, like giving our souls a regular bath. You can’t put one drop of water on your body and be clean—you have to go underneath the water.”
?"Vedic Personalities – Guide, Creator, Leader, Maker"
?"Location has energy; Time has memory"
This Much was enough for me to get hooked on this book and make?a purchase. As I am reading through each chapter I understand that the Author has not just written this book from the perspective of a Monk nor to pursue the Monk Lifestyle but to build the Lifestyle of living in a city, chasing dreams, and thriving with full potential without disrupting Mental peace.
I believe this is one of the books we monkey minds can rely on to train ourselves and experience Life it as is.
