World Youth Skills Day
Enabling Youth for a Brighter Future
Every year on the 15th of July, the United Nations General Assembly leads the initiative of World Youth Skills Day (WYSD). This global event aims to equip young people with the necessary skills for employment, work, and entrepreneurship, and It recognizes and celebrates the exceptional talents and abilities of youth worldwide. The theme for 2023 is ‘Skilling teachers, trainers, and youth for a transformative future.’
To be able to achieve the objectives of World Youth Skills Day demands coordinated efforts across the education, business, and policy spheres. Thus, GWC aims to set the benchmark for youth skills development aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, by empowering youth with experiential learning programs, internship opportunities, and mentoring initiatives that nurture talent. Additionally, GWC actively participates in various career fairs conducted by Qatar's universities, extending job opportunities to the country's youth. GWC has successfully trained over 50 interns from different universities, and many of them have found suitable careers within GWC.
Encouraging youth to discover their instincts
Alongside imparting knowledge and building a skill base, it is essential to enable young people to explore their interests and creative instincts beyond academic learning. GWC champions this approach by providing internships to students and alumni from HBKU, Doha University, and CCQ to young minds to shine.
Unlocking the Potential of Youth for Future Growth
In line with the goals of World Youth Skills Day, GWC is enabling youth to thrive in an ever-changing world by equipping them with the necessary skills and opportunities to succeed. By investing in the youth today, GWC is building a brighter and more prosperous future for tomorrow.?
