World of Words

In the beginning was the word,
And the word was with God.
Then the word became God.
?
So true—first came the word,
And from the word, we're creating our world.
?
You see, my words are merely shades of black on white,
Or an array of sounds and silences.
I didn't attach the meanings
?
You are the one giving them meanings.
If I write "abcd" or speak gibberish,
You'll still try to make sense of it.
You might say, "he is going mad."
?
But things don't come with words
You wouldn't even have a name.
It took time to convince you—
You're Jay, John, Alex, or Ali.
?
Imagine we go back in time.
Back to when you had no name,
When no words were spoken.
Yet, the world still existed—
Perhaps the real one.
Unnamed. Untainted.
A baby world,
Full of wonder and curiosity.
?
So, what happened when the words arrived?
Did we become lazy?
Did we stop truly seeing?
Are we happy in a glance minced with words?
?
Did we start recognizing only faces,
Ignoring what lies behind?
Did we create a world of our own—
A world of words,
Separate from reality?
?
And now, there's a distance.
Our identity is trapped in words—
Names, labels, tags.
We don’t even open the boxes
To see what’s inside.
?
Outside this, is there still a reality,
Untouched by words?
A world waiting to be seen and heard?
?
Or have words become everything?
Everywhere,
Everything carries a label.
Everything is painted.
A myopia has set in.
?
Is there a war of words raging from within??
Do we need to tune in—
To let the words fall away.
Phew... and in that silence, beyond the clamour of languages,
Lies the magic of the world?as?it?truly?is.
