Why did you decide to become a teacher/educator?

I wanted to contribute to children's development and desire to learn and have a positive influence in their lives. Also, I worked as a substitute teacher and really enjoyed it, so that influenced my decision to become a teacher.

What does your daily work at Albert look like??

Very varied and fun with all the different projects and developments that happen here!

What is important to consider in your role?

Anything that contributes to a fun and positive learning experience; making sure that the content is relevant and becomes stepping stones for children to develop maths, literacy and numeracy skills, that the interaction design is intuitive and supports learning. It is a joint effort with designers and developers to make learning fun and engaging!?

What is the most enjoyable part of being a teacher/educator?

The impact we make; we know from research that a good start with reading/writing/mathematics contributes positively to a child's learning in school. A child who experiences success in learning gains self-confidence and begins to enjoy making an effort to learn new things. Albert can help create these positive circles. Small positive changes can make a big difference in the long run.?

We're constantly researching and improving how our products work, and there's so much fun problem-solving going on at Albert to give kids a head start on learning.

Did you have a favourite teacher when you were younger?

Yes, I did! My first teacher in grades 1-3, Ulla Torstensson, was such a wonderful teacher and played a huge role in my schooling - in fact, I've been studying ever since and recently completed a second master's degree in cognitive science, specialising in educational technology, so she definitely sparked my interest in learning!
