“Booming in My Backyard”
Richard C. Brown, President & CEO of ESP Safety Consultants, is proud to announce that ESP is a full supporter of World Shale Energy Day and currently participate on the planning calls for this great event and look forward to continually growing this special day with great people around the globe.
I am hereby stating that all the companies I am involved with in some aspect or another, ESP Safety Consultants, Brown Global Partners, Inc., STAYY, HOSE-ER, Punk Junk, Brownie's Mill, and KYND-MYND are all 100% supporters of the World Shale Energy Day.
Being based in Homer City, Pennsylvania, a small town just outside of Pittsburgh, the Shale Energy has been good to me and my family and is literally in my backyard. I am so proud to say that I have worked in most of the shale plays in the US and even some across the globe but I am blessed to have a shale play just off my back porch. The Marcellus Shale sits in my backyard and I have been privileged enough to work for several outstanding companies within the Marcellus Shale Play since 2008 and have enjoyed every minute of it.
What is so exciting to me as a safety consultant, is the fact that every E&P operates different, every location is different, every well performs different, and the fact that every site requires site specific safety strategies to allow for the safe functionality of the drilling, fracing, flowback and production processes.
I have been a part of the boom and the dip and currently enjoy the more plateaued approach in these play areas to allow for more efficient, more effective and by far most important to me, SAFER operations.
The development of the shale play is a life saver for this area, which has seen our coal mining operations and power plants struggle in recent years along with the steel mills that are only operating at a fraction of their old selves, so, yes, the shale play in this area has been very much a life saver.
The Marcellus Shale play has allowed farmers that have been struggling as well over the years to take advantage of their vast acreage and sign lucrative mineral right leases and more to allow them to take advantage of what they own and what they want to explore for the benefit of us all in this area and around the globe.
I am fortunate enough to work in the Utica Shale Play as well and have seen similar life-saving activities in OH that I did in PA with the Marcellus Shale play. Packing restaurants, packing hotels, hiring local companies for water hauling, construction activities, well service operations and more has been a boost to the OH economy as well.
To say we need the shale plays is a huge understatement and anyone that knows energy sure knows this to be true, and I am so glad I live where I live to be able to participate in this great and vast resource we call SHALE!
Thank you oil & gas and more importantly, thank you SHALE!
God Bless!
