A World in Shadows

A World in Shadows

A World in Shadows

For over two long years, Not a single day goes by Without the haunting sight of death, The silent screams, the desperate cries.

I question our humanity, If we deserve this world we claim, As killings stain our history, And crimes are met with shame.

#Europe, the #US, NATO , the United Nations , Once beacons of hope, now dimmed, Their failures echo through the lands, As justice remains undelivered, grimmed.

We witness horrors, day by day, Innocence lost, lives torn apart, And wonder how we've fallen so, How we've degraded heart by heart.

The past has taught us lessons harsh, Yet still, we stumble, still, we fail, Our global leaders' hollow words, Their promises, a fragile veil.

What have we learned from wars before, From genocide and cruel despair? It seems our memories are short, Our empathy too rare.

In a world of endless violence, Where dead lie unremembered, We must confront our bitter truth, And fan the flames, long embered.

Hold accountable the powers that be, Demand reform, demand what's just, For in the silence of the graves, Lie the echoes of our trust.

No more can we avert our eyes, From failures that we've seen, For in our hands, the power lies, To change what might have been.

The shadows of our history, Cast long and dark and deep, But in our courage, unity, A brighter dawn can creep.

For every life that's lost to war, For every tear that's shed, We owe a vow to strive for peace, To honor all the dead.

So let us rise, as humans true, And earn our place anew, In a world where justice reigns, And compassion guides us through.
