On World Refugee Day, PHP celebrates the work of our partner, Nationalities Service Center
On World Refugee Day, PHP celebrates our grantee, Nationalities Service Center (NSC), a Philadelphia Health Partnership partner since December 2014.
NSC welcomes refugees and their families to Philadelphia through a trauma-informed and culturally-responsive approach that connects newcomers to quality care and resources – including health access and navigation services. NSC’s refugee health program serves 400 newly arrived refugees annually, providing support for over 2,000 health care appointments. NSC facilitates refugee health screenings, primary care, and specialty visits and provides integrated and multi-disciplinary clinical and holistic wellness services.
Other NSC resettlement and placement services help refugees secure housing, school enrollment, social services and public benefits enrollment, and legal services. Case management programs provide specialized supports for survivors of human trafficking, torture, and domestic violence. Cultural orientation on navigating life in Philadelphia is woven into every interaction.
On this World Refugee Day, we honor NSC for their passionate commitment to helping refugees achieve a life of safety and stability, sustainable opportunities, and meaningful community connections.
