The world of rallying is tough & danger… it's a a sport of skill, a sport of challenge, a sport which pushes your mind and body to extremes - levels of stresses and strains completely different to other motor sports…
In any corner of the world where sport is discussed, there is never any doubt that Rallying is the hardest test of human and machine.
The combination of high average speeds, short , long distances, wide roads, poor roads, fickle weather, river crossing, high altitude, dust and mud such high demands on the physical strength of the car and its crew that only the best could win, the wide variety of conditions physical agility from the car and mental agility from the crew
Of course luck played a part. A crew could be leading by hours and then confronted by a flooded river when they had to.
