World Premiere of Tijuana Bible

The French Composer Thierry MALET signed the score of this violent and fascinating thriller

Thierry Malet is a renowned French composer, with decades of experience in both French and American cinema. Over his storied career, he has been proficient in composition, penning the music for over 350 individual projects. His signature style and original scores have backed a variety of film formats, including documentary, television, and feature film. Although his work was renowned for many years prior, Thierry Malet started to earn more universal acclaim after his work on the French-musical film Imago(2006). For his composition work on Imago, he earned an oscar nomination and the award for best film score at the Cannes Film Festival.

In his early education, Thierry Malet was trained in classical piano at the Conservatoire of Paris, building his musical roots in composition. he stretched his musical muscles for several years before committing to the art of film score composition, earning a Ph.D. in bioacoustics from the Sheffield University. He also showed an interest in invention and ingenuity, working on the first MIDI guitars in the late 1980s. His earliest composition work can be heard in French video documentaries such as Les Transportés (1997) and Eiffel and his Tower (1995), a genre wherein he would prosper for his entire career.

Malet's most recent work can be heard in the upcoming thriller Tijuana Bible, which is set to premiere at the 24th BUSAN International Film Festival on next October. Directed by Jean-Charles HUE, Tijuana Bible follows the story of Nick (Paul Anderson), an Iraq War veteran living in the Mexican city of Tijuana. Nick encounters Ana (Adriana Paz), a woman searching for her missing brother. The pair will have to survive the underground world of drug traffickers and criminals in their attempt to rescue Ana's sibling. Thierry Malet has written a haunting and effective score for Tijuana Bible, utilizing the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra for a mysterious and touchfull music.
