World Patient Safety Day 2024

Today, we observe World Patient Safety Day – a day to raise global awareness, promote continued collaboration, and drive action to improve patient safety and healthcare outcomes.??

As a medtech leader, we embrace the responsibility to protect patients and collaborate with customers, faculty, and expert partners to fulfill this commitment, every day.?

This year, we asked three team members from marketing about how Zimmer Biomet solutions enhance patient safety:??

Knee System has achieved one of the lowest revision rates among the top knee systems in Germany, with an impressive 2.2% revision rate after 7 years [1]. This accomplishment is evidence of our commitment to the highest quality knee implants, aiming for the best possible outcomes and longevity for patients.

In our pursuit of excellence, we provide a comprehensive 360 solution suite that aims to enhance recovery outcomes for patients - from pre-surgery to post-surgery, our technology offers patients and caregivers continuous support and helps to optimise surgical results."

We are committed to patient safety, quality, and integrity, and to delivering innovative and technology-driven solutions for cardiac and thoracic surgeries.

Our Sternalock? Blu system, a modern rigid-fixation sternal-closure solution, significantly improves healing, reduces complications, and brings cost savings over time [2]. RibFix Blu, our rib stabilization system, similarly uses rigid fixation to reduce risk of mortality and complications, decreasing days on mechanical ventilation, in the ICU, and hospital stay [3].

The platform gives care teams the ability to identify patients who might be off-track and keeps patients connected and informed through a range of metrics and alerts.

The power of mymobility? can be increased when combined with Rapid Recovery, which integrates fast-track surgery, process optimization, and patient and? team engagement to provide better experiences and more effective care [4, 5] .
