In A World of Noise: Finding the Trusted Voice

Referrals, testimonials, references: the trusted recommendation for any service. The resource we have lived by in choosing a service outside our skill set. Finding the accountant, contractor, graphic designer, consultant, planner, producer - the list goes on and on. Who do you recommend?

Thanks Grow UP Sales for the image @GrowupSales growupsales.com - The Value of Referrals

Why recommendations are so important? When starting a new project most people need expert advice. Some choose to Do It Yourself (DIY) and have the time to do the research. Whether it is a DIY or Ask An Expert (AAE) the challenges are real: Who do you trust? And how do you know what you don’t know? What questions should you be asking?

So many questions, so much advice. How to find, and trust, the plethora of voices. Ask An Expert. Thanks to homeandproperty.ca for the image.

Today, even more so as this is June 6 2020 and the world is recovering from Covid19, we must filter out the noise of so many “experts”. The noise is online; the world we now live in. Where anyone with access to the internet can post, shout out their opinions, extol their virtues. Many are “new wizards”. Many are just loud voices shouting into the atmosphere. A few are true leaders in their field.

Be wary of those that shout out Trust Me. Leaders in their industry will have referrals and testimonials that does the shouting for them.

What I personally have found is that our specialists are generously offering training, “how to” tips, best practices. Spontaneously, passionately, enthusiastically, with a goal of communal success. Finding joy in the shared growth and experience.

Tips and best practices are what we require to get started in a new endeavor. This sharing of knowledge teaches us what we do not know, questions we need to ask, and a starting point to retain the experts we need.

We are all in this together emerging into tomorrow. A tomorrow with opportunities. A tomorrow that accesses the amazing amount of technical and technology resources available to the 2020 world. A tomorrow that we must embrace to survive in business. Professionals are generously giving of their time and skills to help their network embrace tomorrow. Sharing knowledge and supporting those who choose to go forward.

We learn from yesterday but there is no going back. Yesterday is our history; as much as we long to return, that is a waste of our time and energy.

We learn from yesterday but there is no going back. Yesterday is our history; as much as we long to return, that is a waste of our time and energy.

The opportunity for associations and networks to sift through the noise to become sources of trusted advice is greater today than it ever was. Investing in the future of their members and colleagues. Finding the voices that are relevant to today’s needs – that is the challenge and the reward.

Societies and associations are usually dedicated to advancing opportunities for their members. Today's online world offers access to education never seen before. Thanks 3playmedia.com for the image and verbiage.

Providing that platform of trusted information in one easy to access location. Priceless.

Sarah Sladek, Save The Associations, has excellent content. In April 2017 Sarah said "...in times of decline, there are opportunities. Even when it seems like there are no answers, there are solutions waiting to be discovered. An evergreen comment. https://savetheassociations.com #support #education #membershipmatters
