The world needs more smiles and hugs

My people

Today is my birthday and I deeply appreciate and thank all for the greetings, birthday presents and well wishes. I have used the greater part of today to reflect on life and humanity. I am happy for my family, friends and the acquaintances I have made over the years. Without you all the book of my life will never be complete.

I have also pondered on the remarkable strides and technological breakthroughs made by mankind with all the attendant disruptions and advancements. However the attainment of happiness has remained elusive to most because of the focus on wrong priorities largely propelled by greed.

It is time to go back to the basics by returning to the simple things that matter. Smiles are free and hugs can heal but still not forthcoming from people. These are what seal our fate and boost our faith. Out of many, we are one and you may argue otherwise but we are all inter-connected.
