My friend @ritu gulati inspired me to write this article during our discussion on a post of mine which was shared today. This particular topic is of immense relevance today as we are facing the covid-19 pandemic situation world wide and we have seen the whole world has gone 'upside down' as far as movement of people and restrictions imposed on them.
As we all know, a large part of the healing journey centres around emotional and mental healing. It's vital that we covid-19 survivors take care of our emotional well-being as well apart from the physical healing taking place everywhere through health care professionals. It is said that mental healing allows us to 'reclaim' our mental power. It gives us the opportunity to put together the pieces back in such a way so that we emerge much stronger than ever before.
Sant Rajinder Singhji Maharaj has recently said "Our world is in need of healing, and there are many who have dedicated their lives to this cause. There is a way for each one of us to contribute to a better future, and it all begins in silence. If we wish to heal our planet, we must begin by healing ourselves. We may not be able to change another person over the course of weeks, years, or even a lifetime, but we can change ourselves immediately."
His last sentence is of utmost importance" change ourselves immediately". This means that, accepting who you are from a physical, physiological, and spiritual perspective. It also means treating yourself in a kind, gentle, and supportive manner, just as you would support a loved one in need, we ourselves need this kind of healing in our psychological health.
We all immediately need to emotionally heal ourselves for fulfilment. First of all we must be aware of our emotions and reactions we express to others whether they are in an appropriate manner. We tend to criticise without understanding or even appreciating the others' point of views so blatantly, that we do not even tend think before we act. We just know to listen to respond and not to understand what the person is saying. Every one is under tremendous mental stress in this situation and we have to strive for a balance of emotions and achieve calmness of nerves. The real healing process starts only when we connect with ourselves first and find out our own purpose of life and meaning of our own life, before we connect with others.
Like we know the physical healing can either be performed in a person's energy field around the body or on the body. If the healing practitioner is working in the energy field, they move their hands in the air around the body to clear, balance, or energise the field and then process of healing starts. We have seen the healers hold a pendulum above certain parts of your body. S/he will then gently touch your body or place her/his hands slightly above your body as s/he restores and balances the energy system of your body.
When it comes to mental healing process, it is essentially the restoration of a sense of meaning, purpose, sense of self and quality of life, despite struggles with the illness. As healing occurs, the self returns to new wholeness complete with these past new experiences and new choices. It is here that the meaning can unfold in true sense. Anger is no different part. Anger is a normal and appropriate response when something is wrong in us, in our own relationships, or in the world around us when we ignore, snuff out, or self-medicate in response to anger, we only prolong the healing process.
The true emotional healing process involves simple steps to be followed. You need to be yourself first. Stand by your own beliefs and opinions, standing up for your values, wearing the clothes you want to wear, eating the food you want to eat, saying the things you want to say and accordingly understand the real meaning of your 'true self'. Then we need to reinvent yourself, try to become a person who will experience less emotional distress, a composed calmer person, a less critical person, a less egoistic person, a more productive person, a less self-abusive person, and so on. We need to feel happier, warmer and better, want to live longer, healthier and experience life as more meaningful if we love and let ourselves be loved. To have a better grip on your mind you are having thoughts that do not serve you in any emotional distress. Only you can get a grip on your own mind to move on and let go of the past and forget the 'regret' part of it. You have decided to live without anxiety or tension taking calmer approach to life and how you intend to deal with routine chores and tasks, how you intend to relax now and experience how you have evolved during this period of healing.
As a healed person, you are now upgraded your thought process and behavioural patterns and will have healthier relationships with everyone around and you are feeling super confident and empathetic towards others. Stay blessed and enjoy life as it comes very positively. #kishoreshintre
