World Nature Protection Day
Every three seconds an area of forest equivalent to a football field is lost.
If global warming does not stop, by the year 2050, 90% of coral reefs will have disappeared; and almost 75% of the earth's surface is influenced by human activity, which causes alterations in the life cycles of wild flora and fauna.
On World Nature Protection Day, at ALF we call on all of society to promote measures that collaborate with the eradication of acts that damage the environment.
In this line, the UN launched in 2019 the United Nations Decade for Ecosystem Restoration, which aims to unite the world to prevent, stop and reverse the degradation of ecosystems worldwide, as well as improve food security. , water supply and biodiversity.
According to this program, the objectives for 2030 are: fight against desertification; rehabilitate degraded land and soil, including those affected by desertification, drought and floods; and strive to achieve a land degradation neutral world. By preserving nature, we can improve people's quality of life, counteract climate change and stop the collapse of biodiversity.
