World Music Radio (WMR) is more than 50 years old. From it's struggling short-wave "Pirate" origin is now an official station in Denmark (see www.wmr.dk). In the past WMR sounded very much different from today. Back then WMR didn’t play any of what is now known as "World Music". In the beginning the format was more or less Top40 and later it developed into Soft Pop.

Now you have the chance to listen to some of the WMR programmes from the past:

A brand new ‘WMR Classic’ website is now available from the Netherlands! Not only you can listen to old programmes with the historical presenters (mostly from the 80s), you can also read about the history of WMR and much more...
