??? World Mental Health! ???
Kiota School
KIOTA is the Swahili word for nest: A safe place, where we nurture young minds to positively impact the world.
As we continue celebrating World Mental Health, at Kiota, we recently marked Father’s Day with the theme "Celebrating the Mental Wellness of a Father" at Nairobi National Park, KWS Club House. The session, led by Dr. Joseph, highlighted the importance of fathers' mental health and their role in shaping strong, healthy families.
Why is mental wellness crucial for men, especially fathers? Men, often seen as pillars of strength, sometimes carry the weight of societal expectations in silence. It’s important to remind ourselves that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Fathers who prioritize their mental wellness not only benefit themselves but also model healthy emotional behavior for their children. By fostering open conversations, recognizing when to seek support, and engaging in self-care, fathers can ensure they remain mentally resilient for their families.
??? "Mental health is not a destination but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you’re going."
Let’s keep the dialogue going about mental wellness, and work together for a future where men feel empowered to take care of their mental health. Together, we can create healthier, happier families.
