World Mental Health Day 2022
#worldmentalhealthday2022 Today we realize that mental health has everything to do with physical health and overall well-being. We have thousands of friends and connections on various social media platforms, making accessibility to resources the easiest. But when is the last time we pinged someone back when we read a post or status depicting the person to be low? The pandemic has just started coming under control, but mental well-being was the worst hit in the past few years. According to WHO, 15% of the working population had a mental disorder in 2019 which may have soared more for sure these years. How do we implement Prevent, Protect, Promote and Support strategies for mental well-being advocated by WHO? There is a simple individual approach that can be adopted. When is the last time that we said to someone, ‘I am all ears…’? Reaching out to someone and just listening to what they have to say about their mental status is a simple yet effective way to bring the person out from fighting against conflicting emotions. Listening can give you an opportunity to prevent misunderstanding and ease things for others so that it doesn't keep building up and become a stressful situation for them. Let us reach out to our friends, families, and colleagues and listen to what they have to say. Sharing is truly liberating! #iamallears
