World Health Day
The answers I received to what is health were; when one feels at ease, the complete well-being of a person, when one feels okay, when nothing bothers you, etc.

The 7th of April every year is celebrated as World Health Day. Its purpose is to create awareness about a particular area of health. Health awareness is promoted and people are encouraged to take action towards better health. The theme for this year is Health for All.

The definition of Health as described by WHO (World Health Organisation) is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease. This forms a triad of health.

Exercise, a healthy diet, relaxation, and sleep are the pillars of good health. All four pillars are crucial to maintaining physical, mental, and social well-being.

Physical Health- The ability of the body to function normally. Activities like running, walking, cycling, exercising, playing outdoor games, aerobics, yoga, and good nutrition, all of these contribute towards better physical health.

Mental Health- It is the ability to manage thoughts, emotions and behaviour. Exercise, yoga, meditation, and good nutrition. Yoga and meditation help in maintaining mental stability increasing concentration and thereby increasing energy and output at work.

Social Health- Social health is having a sense of belonging, and building and maintaining relationships. Isolation and lack of communication are the major reasons behind depression, mental and physical illness that today’s youth is suffering from.?Having a positive & supportive social circle increases self-esteem and contributes to assertive mental health. No matter how busy you are, try to find some time for family and friends.

A healthy society is the need of the hour. In India, there are traditional forms of medicine, that are not alternative but play a very integral part in healthcare. It is high time that there is an integration of different systems of medicine (Allopathy, Homoeopathy, Ayurvedic). Each one has its limitations, but if given in harmony, a patient can benefit the most from this integrated system.
