This makes no sense...
I tell you what, whilst the country is in a cost of living crisis & an energy crisis & families & businesses are struggling to financially survive, let's make Monday a bank holiday and close everything because... that's what the queen would have wanted. Let's also?cancel people's cancer appointments ?too.
I'm sorry but...what!? If we're spending 10 days mourning the queen because of her service to the country, why aren't we spending 10 days mourning the nurses that lost their lives serving our country during Covid? And cancelling people's cancer appointments!?
I really don't get it, although I totally understand that the loss of anyone is extremely sad for those around them.?
Anyway, Center Parcs were in the limelight this week for saying they were going to kick out all of their guests on Monday, then doing a U-turn on the decision after all the backlash they got (see here ).

2 年Some businesses do seem to have gone into panic mode over this Dan. To post about it or not to post about it, to close or not to close. There’s plenty of ways of showing your respect as a business but at the same time, maybe in some cases such as this one, it should be more a sense of “keep calm and carry on.” Centre parts should have remained open on Monday but put up big screens or something so that holiday makers and staff could come together and watch.

2 年I couldn't disagree anymore. And I also think this could have waited until after the funeral. We are a sovereign nation, and our sovereign has died, so why wouldn't we do this? I also think some anti-monarchists need to be careful what they wish for. In a republic state the sovereign is elected, and in almost ALL cases, it's entirely self-serving.
