World Golf Competition Tees Off Partnership with Corporate Traveller
World Golf Competition
We run the World Golf Competition, a global amateur golf event encompassing luxury golf, accommodation and travel
In an exciting development for the golfing community, the World Golf Competition recently celebrated the launch of its partnership with Corporate Traveller Australia in grand style at the New South Wales (NSW) Golf Club. This iconic event saw 48 corporate golfers converge on one of Australia's most prestigious courses, located on the scenic cliffs of La Perouse, overlooking Botany Bay.?
Designed by the renowned Dr. Alister MacKenzie, the NSW Golf Club is a par 72 private course known for its challenging undulating fairways, breathtaking scenic vistas, and a clubhouse that elegantly blends traditional architecture with five-star comfort. This event not only offered participants a glimpse into the rich history and stunning beauty of the NSW Golf Club but also provided a unique competitive experience through World Golf Competition’s innovative 1 v 3 stableford format. Playing in groups of four, the winner only needs to better the score of the three other players in their group.?
Highlighting the day's competition was a hole-in-one challenge on the 6th hole, where golfers had the chance to win a staggering $25,000. The excitement peaked as one player's ball tantalizingly skimmed the rim of the hole but sped well past allowing another to win the nearest to the pin prize also on offer – a moment that sums up the narrow margins in competition golf.
In addition to the Hole in One, a complimentary entry into the World Golf Competition 2025 was up for grabs along with other significant prizes. Anthony Boyd from Woolpert who finished with the best score for his group for the day and then won a tense putt off in front of an absorbed gallery emerged as the victor. Boyd's consistent performance and steady hand ensured he kept his challengers at bay, ultimately securing his place in the World Golf Competition 2025 as the winner of this memorable day at the NSW Golf Club.
The World Golf Competition is known for bringing a professional tournament feel to serious amateur golfers, allowing them to compete against others with similar handicaps in a format that's both challenging and inclusive. This event was no exception, as players took on the challenge of outscoring their group members to advance to a thrilling sudden death putt-off. As the sun dipped below the horizon, silhouetting the iconic clubhouse, participants faced off in front of their colleagues and peers, adding a dramatic climax to an already memorable day.
