World first paediatric clinical trial using Versius
At the end of July, CMR Surgical commenced the first multicentre prospective clinical trial, set out to assess the safety and efficacy of Versius for use in urological procedures in paediatric surgery.?
Led by?Mr Ewan Brownlee, Consultant Paediatric Urologist at the University Hospital Southampton NHS FT 's Southampton Children's Hospital, the trial is taking place over 3 clinical sites in the UK: Southampton Children’s Hospital, The Department of Paediatric Urology at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust , and Department of Paediatric Urology, and the Evelina London Children’s Hospital, part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust . The trial is focusing on children and infants under the age of 18, undergoing a range of urological procedures with Versius including but not limited to robotic assisted pyeloplasty, ureteroureterostomy, nephrectomy and Mitrofanoff formation.
The first case completed as part of the trial was completed at Southampton Children’s Hospital at the end of July, with the 7-year-old patient discharged the following day. We look forward to seeing the trial continue to progress!

At the end of August, CMR Surgical reached a new milestone of over 25,000 surgical procedures have now been performed using Versius globally!?
We would like to thank all our customers across the world and a special thank you to colorectal surgeon Dr. Gustavo Becker Pereira from Unimed Litoral Hospital, who performed a sigmoid colectomy and anastomosis of colon to rectum as the 25,000th Versius procedure. Since the announcement in August, we have now surpassed 26,000 case milestone!?

In Q3 we welcomed Markus Bauman , Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer and Michelle Paknad , President of Global Marketing & US Market Entry to the CMR leadership team.
Markus has over two decades of significant in-house legal experiences, plus experience in world-renowned law firms. Markus will oversee the CMR teams in Legal and Compliance and Information Security and Governance as a member of the Company’s executive leadership team, to help achieve CMR's mission.?
Michelle has over two decades of sales and marketing experience in the medical devices sector, specifically in the soft-tissue surgical robotics space. With Michelle joining the commercial team, we will be able to further accelerate CMR’s mission of bringing the benefits of robotic-assisted surgery, with Versius, to more hospitals around the world.

In India, GEM Hospital?have completed 200 Versius surgical procedures. In less than 2 years with Versius,?Asian Institute of Medical Sciences?in Faridabad have successfully completed 200 surgeries with the system.

Dr. Kalyana Kumari, a Gynaecology Surgeon, has completed 50 Versius procedures at?Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital?with the support of the entire Gynaecology surgical team.?
UK?
Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust , the first hospital in England to install Versius has now introduced a second Versius system and surpassed the 800 case milestone! At MKUH, Versius is used as part of a multispecialty robotics programme including colorectal surgery, gynaecology, general surgery and urology to undertake an array of complex surgical procedures including anterior resections, hysterectomies, abdominal wall reconstructions, ureteric reconstructions, and nephrectomies.
The team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board ,?have reached 300 cases with Versius. Cardiff introduced Versius as part of the All Wales National Robotics Programme, and use the system across colorectal, gynaecology and upper GI surgery.
Versius has been installed in The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust with teams having commenced their Versius training ahead of first cases!?
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust ’s Addenbrooke’s Hospital have performed 100 cases in less than 10 months with Versius.
Europe??
The team at Clinique Urologique Nantes Atlantis in France, have successfully started an outpatient ambulatory programme for patients receiving radical prostatectomy using Versius.
The first Hysterectomy with Lymphnodes dissection with vLimeLite was performed by?Prof. Francesco Fanfani?at?Gemelli Hospital, Rome.
Congratulations to the team at Klinikum Chemnitz gGmbH in Germany who have now performed over 800 surgical procedures with Versius. At the hospital, Versius is routinely used across general, visceral and thoracic surgery, with the team having recently performed the first esophagectomy in Germany with Versius and a broad spectrum of lung and mediastinal tumour resections.

Congratulations to Unimed Litoral Hospital?who have now completed over 500 cases with Versius. The 25,000th?case performed with Versius globally which was also took place at the hospital – a sigmoid colectomy and anastomosis of colon to rectum performed by Dr Gustavo Becker.
Team CMR give back to the community?
Team CMR helped marshal and crowd control through the streets of Cambridge for the Chariots of Fire relay race to help raise money for?Magpas Air Ambulance. Magpas Air Ambulance provide?helicopter emergency medical service?(HEMS) to a population of over 10 million people in the?East of England and East Midlands.?
Staff from across our UK sites brought in their finest baked treats for Macmillan coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.?
