WORLD ENVIRONMRNT DAY ("ONLY ONE EARTH")
The environment is the basic life support system for all living things on planet Earth. It is a combination of natural and human-made components. Natural components include air, water, land, and living organisms. Roads, industries, buildings, etc., are human-made components.?
World Environment Day 2022?is the biggest international day for the environment. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and held annually since 1973, it has grown to be the largest global platform for environmental outreach. It is celebrated by millions of people across the world. World Environment Day 2022 is hosted by Sweden. “Only One Earth" is the campaign slogan, with the focus on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”. It will focus on the need to live sustainably in harmony with nature, and our possibilities for shifting to a greener lifestyle through both policies and individual choices.?
People celebrate World Environment Day (WED) in many different ways all over the world, they planting trees, clean up local water bodies, organising meetings, joining online protests, and so on. WED is a platform to raise awareness on the problems facing our environment such as air pollution, plastic pollution, illegal wildlife trade, sustainable consumption, sea-level increase, and food security, among others. Furthermore, WED helps drive change in consumption patterns and in national and international environmental policy.

The environment is dependent on the interaction between all the different components. However, human beings play a huge role in the making and breaking of the environment. Being the supreme most intellectual power on Earth, human beings influence the wellness of the environment to a great extent. The impact of the environment on all living beings is directly proportional to the way human beings treat the environment. Any kind of existence would not be possible without air, water or land. Nothing to eat, not a drop to drink and nowhere to go is not what we or our future generations should expect to have.?
Environmental survival, and having a clean and safe environment are solely in the hands of human beings.
To celebrate and honor WED, I urge you to live a more sustainable lifestyle so as not to contribute to activities that foster global warming and environmental degradation. World Environment Day is a great opportunity to learn about the impact of air pollution and what you, your family, and your community can do to help. Every little bit counts, and together we can help make a difference.
