World Environment Day 2019
Today is World Environment Day 2019 and this year's focus is air pollution. In January this year, I had the privilege of being part of Homeward Bound Projects #TeamHB3. Our HB3 cohort are carbon offsetting their voyage in partnership with the United Nations to ensure we have a carbon neutral footprint.
So my question is - what are you, your family and your organisation doing to reduce your carbon footprint?
Something must change and it starts with a different approach to leadership. Fabian Dattner addressed this in her recent article on Climate crisis? The imperative of changing leadership practice. At our leadership practice, Dattner Grant, we discuss this on a weekly basis and we are bringing it to the forefront of our strategic choices today, tomorrow and for our future.
Earlier this year Forbes published an article outlining Why And How Business Must Tackle Climate Change Now. It included:
- Measuring your carbon footprint
- Develop a climate action plan
- Set emissions reduction targets
- Monitor progress
Despite the urgency, an ABC report recently stated that Australia's biggest companies are failing to plan for climate change risks.
You don't need to wait to contribute to the climate solution - you can have an impact right now. Climate Neutral Now invites you to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and to offset for yourself. Act now!
