When one claims to be working for a world class software company what does that make you think? do you consider the technical skills of the average engineer? the products? the inclination to try out any new technology out there? the total compensation package? your peers? the expertise of your managers? the technical vision of senior management?

Mooly Beeri, I thank you for a thought provoking article ! The top three companies that come to my mind immediately to answer your question are the big ones: Google, Microsoft and Amazon. One thread that links these three companies is the adaptability and flexibility that the companies have shown over the years. Google's search page is still a good example for simplicity, but what is hidden "under the hood" is that it has become smarter (for example: search results appear as one types, etc.). So in my opinion, adaptability and anticipating customer needs are two important aspects for a world class software company.

7 年It is a company in which 'customer obsession' is number one. People are empowered to cross organizational borders to get that best, flexible and lightweight solution out there without copying the org structure into your architecture. People should feel empowered to work as entrepreneurs and consider at every step if we should build ourselves or buy/integrate to reach speed demanded in Digital. Anymore, oh yes. It must have an atmosphere that makes the people feel good so they can focus all their energy on bringing solutions.
