The World Class Operates From Objective Reality

The World Class Operates From Objective Reality

A few Definitions to get us started:

  1. World Class- adjective: Outstanding, among the world's best at a skill or achievement
  2. Objective Reality- the idea that something exists independently of conscious awareness, such as perception or thought

Amateur performers operate from delusion., pro's operate from objective reality. The great ones' habits, actions, and behaviors are totally congruent with the size and scope of their ultimate vision. That's why we call them Champions. "

-Steven Siebold

What I take the author to be saying, and I agree with in all my years of coaching, mentoring, managing, and building individuals up is, that amateurs or low performers suffer from various stages of delusion in relation to their efforts.

Better said, the input does not allow the desired output. They think they are working hard enough, but they just aren't. They may lack the skills or repetitive experience. Without mental fortitude and habits, these realizations can sour their drive and create negative conditions, including low self-esteem and self-value.

LET'S IDENTIFY THE 5 LEVELS OF CONSCIOUS AWARENESS

5 LEVELS OF CONSCIOUS AWARENESS

In most experiences, the middle class suffers the most from grand delusion. That might surprise many of you.

Often times the poverty class is barely surviving and feeling simply thankful to make it day to day. Likely, major dreams are not as common as a few of the other levels.

Next, the working class is punching a clock. They are getting by, have a few toys and guilty pleasures, live a simple life, and are working through what society shows a moderate life might look like. They are not truly expecting much and often might not be big dreamers and climbing ladders. Nothing wrong with this or any of the levels. Everyone makes their own destiny. I will also add that in the working class, the next generation (children), far more often than not, will repeat this existence. It is comfortable and not quite miserable, so it is safe. This segment is often surrounded by most of the same class, and no one pushes one another, and settling becomes a habit.

We are in the middle class. This level can be considered the most congruent in reality. They have the education and experience to fully understand that there are higher levels and actions mixed with effort and talent that can get us there. They do not always get there, but the thought comes more often than below. Their conscious awareness of more exists. But again, more often than not, the absolute risks and sacrifices are very uncomfortable and not always worth the ride. They want to live the life of the world-class but fall short of that goal. So they watch and dream. They idolize those doing more. These conditions create a belief that they are doing everything they can to get ahead, but they just aren't meant for that level. This is the limiting self-belief and often the saddest because they actually could have almost anything they want. They do not spend enough time in their vision, as it reminds them of what they have labeled a failure.

Lastly, we come to the world class. The world-class are visionaries and realists. They look honestly at themselves and their place in the world. They over-prepare and over-practice. These individuals live in the cocoon of objective reality. They are acutely aware that what they want and desire, more than anything, is on the other side of the effort and possibility of failure. But they venture all the same. Repeatedly. Few in other groups have that grit.
